I usually ride: Road bike (currently Specialized Tarmac)Â Â My best bike is: Ridley Chronus TT bike
tried every type of clip-in and went flat – never looked back and will never go back. ride fivetens and vaudes with hope f20’s and my favourite crank bros stamps small size. the crank bros never score well in magazine tests (tho usually its the large that get tested) but i’ve found them to be better than the rest. f20’s also robust tho not so grippy but they’re way too expensive to put in the spares bucket. However if flats lose the vote and the pedal police come to confiscate them, i’ll give up the hopes and hide the crank bros in the attic.
The rounded underside looks sleek, but it makes for a sketchy surface to stand on if you try to rush away from a stoplight without being properly clipped in.
There isn’t quite such a firm ‘snap’ as you get when clipping into a Shimano pedal (the sound is a bit more subtle, like I perceive most Look-compatible pedals to be), but I think it’s easier to ‘find’ the Time pedal without having to really look down. This is helped by the improved pedal surface area compared with the Xpro’s predecessor, now a nice and wide 725mm2.
In 2007, the average daily traffic on the Interstate 5 Bridge was 126,600 vehicles; by 2017, it had increased by 4.5 percent, to 132,300 vehicles, says the Oregon Department of Transportation. The Interstate 205 Bridge carried 139,600 vehicles in 2007 and 157,600 vehicles in 2017, a nearly 13 percent increase. Nearly 70,000 Washington residents pay Oregon income tax and only a fraction are stay-at-home workers. No one expects those numbers to go down.

Also into my third year but with EPS. Haven’t regretted it for a second. Effortless and trouble free gear changing especially when braking. I’m thinking of replacing my touring bike and I hope I can get it fitted with triple electronic shifting.
Ride Concepts Livewire “This is your daily driver, wear-everywhere, tough-as-nails, do-it-all, ninja-approved, high-performance flat pedal shoe.” Claimed weight 390g. $100 USD.
Using only 8 pins per side, the Black Kats lacked the grip and concavity of the other pedals in the test. They are the thinnest pedals I reviewed, but this comes at a cost.
Nice roundup! I have to give a shoutout to the Specialized 2Fo Flat 1.0. I went to these from some FiveTens and I was blown away. Phenomenal grip, in fact I found myself twisting my foot subconsciously as I dismounted from my bike (my feet thought they clipped in, I suppose). They are also super lightweight, and the neoprene sleeve keeps crap out.
I know I’m not the only one with this problem. The first time I tried a cycling class, the instructor helped me get my feet, clad in borrowed cycling shoes, attached to the pedals. The second time, I was on my own, and spent two full songs smushing my feet against the pedals in the dark and praying for some kind of miracle.
Boehm enjoyed her carless commute so much she ended up buying an unlimited light-rail card so she could ride it to work a few times a week.
