“When people ask ‘What flat pedals?’ on the internet, these aren’t an option I’ve seen put forward before. More’s the pity, because I’m finding them great – even in the worst weather the UK has to offer. Perhaps that’s because NS Bikes’ home in Poland has a less temperate climate than the UK. First introduced in 2014, Radiance flat pedals seem to have had few to no revisions apart from the colours and a five gram reduction in claimed weight (395 down to 390g)…” Read the full review here.
I’ve got the M324 pedals mentioned above on my pub bike. They are great for what they are, but you do have to watch it if you’re clipped in, as it’s very easy to catch the cage on the floor when cornering.
Of course, to use the Pitbull pedals, you need the Pitbull cleats. These install on any standard road shoe, with three screws along the sole. Though it operates on a similar principle to the AeroLites, there is a key difference in Lohmeyer’s system: Whereas AeroLites used a plastic cleat that faced downward, the Pitbulls use a metal cleat that faces forward.
guess I’ll start the thread now for those asking, i didn’t total my car or lose it or anything — i’m just helping out with a big ‘ol story about the light rail for @azcentrali usually leave my house at 1:30, so I’ll leave then — except by uber to the nearest park-and-ride https://t.co/LAqTvOaXmB
Also into my third year but with EPS. Haven’t regretted it for a second. Effortless and trouble free gear changing especially when braking. I’m thinking of replacing my touring bike and I hope I can get it fitted with triple electronic shifting.
There are two types of cleat spacers/shims that come in the box with the HT X2 pedals. There are thin metal shims, and slightly thicker plastic shims. I can’t quite remember exactly what configuration I setup the AM9 shoes with, but I definitely had the thin metal shim, and possibly the plastic shim too.
The speed I can clip in now off the lights is wicked. Actually feels a bit show-offy it’s that smooth and fast. I also rub a little lube on the cleat spring every weekend, that makes it super smooth to clip in too now.
Year after year, they appear in the Shimano catalogue, largely unchanged since they were first introduced approximately one zillion years ago.
The tread pattern, called “Dotty,” is one that’s familiar to FiveTen fans. It’s basically big circles, and while the tread isn’t deep, the rubber more than makes up for it with good grip on solid surfaces.
I didn’t know what to expect when I started using the Garmin Varia RTL510 radar light. Now, I think of it as an indispensable tool that doesn’t only help keep me safe but gives me some measure of peace of mind while riding rural roads. The radar alerts me when a car is approaching from behind far earlier than my own senses would and as a car passes the blinking light ensures I am well visible to drivers. The light is bright and has great battery life. I use to never ride with a light during the daytime but when you have a light this good at your disposal, it’s worth using even on the brightest and clearest of days. Read the full review.
I generally have Shimano M540 or Ultegra SPD-SL – I favour Shimano as they’re cheap, reliable, pretty much fool proof and fully servicable.
I took my bike to Tenerife recently and there were lots of compliments about how I could hold 90rpm up steep multi hour climbs. At the end of a long week my legs felt very good and not wrecked like some othersÂ
