The Hellcats underwent a major revamp last year to address durability issues with earlier versions. Looking at the 2018 shoe, it’s clear FiveTen is not messing around when it comes to durability and quality construction. Most of the shoe is covered in real and synthetic leather, and the rubber sole is thick and meaty. All of that adds up to some serious heft: my size 12 shoes weigh 571g each, without cleats. These are indeed awesome: I still use 520 pedals with the SH56 cleats for my commute; I don’t think they can be beaten for stop-start over mixed terrain.

At the 2018 Eurobike expo, Chromag released their new Dagga DH pedals. The Dagga is their largest platform and widest stance offering, giving riders plenty of space to modulate their footing across the 24 height-adjustable traction pins. I hope there is a solution. I don’t have a problem with the expense but I have not found the info. on the Shimano web site that says it will work. I have seen the XTR Di2 derailleurs but I couldn’t find the information that said Di2 road shifters would work a triple and the info seems to restrict the front derailleur to 40T.
