These are usually a more rugged shoe that has a two bolt system on the sole that will accommodate cleats to allow the rider to ‘clip-in’ to the associated clipless pedal. Mountain bike shoes will have a tough sole offering good grip for walking as well as gripping larger platform pedals. They are available in a wide range of designs from casual trainer designs to sleek and stiff cross country/gravel shoes with an outer that resemble road shoes to chunkier numbers that look more like a skate shoe for enduro and downhill riding.
There isn’t a triple option for EPS. In fact I don’t think there’s a triple option for any e-shifting system.
I’ve 2 bikes with Di2, it’s faultless and you dontd need to buy brand new, most of my hardware is 2nd hand, and has been perfect.
Ride Concepts TNT Ride Concepts’ mid-height, flat pedal offering with an ankle strap for on the fly adjustments. $160 USD.
Really I’d only recommend them to riders who will find that learning curve worth the touch of extra speed off the lights or side of the road. To me it was.
I’m a skinny guy, so I’ve mastered the art of layering for my cold rides. When I got the Sportful R & D Zero jacket, which is one of the thickest, warmest jackets I’ve gotten my hands on, I knew I could drop a few layers. The jacket, despite having a bit of loft, still feels like a road-cycling piece. It’s great for late fall, early spring and even the occasional winter ride in Southern Ontario. The sizing is a bit silly though. I’m usually a size small. My R & D Zero is large and it’s almost snug on me.
That said – definitely not a beginnner setup. Tightening the cleat screws even .5nm too much and you can compress part of the housing enough to give you issues with the spring. Breaking in the spring must be a hell of a time for a light rider, and if the missus moves on to them (I have bought her some, but after realising the initial learning curve she lost interest), I’ll have to break the spring in for her. Also actually finding the pedal isn’t just step down and go – you have a few cm wide circle under you foot that you need to mount so like Keo’s etc, you still need to develop muscle memory.
*as this is road cc should point out that "The Rules" need to be considered and then ignored as practicality overules unless you do actually race
Yeah I guess within the garment industry it is an extreme guarantee but it’s one that a lot, if not most, cycling companies offer. It’s actually a…

It may not have some of the fancier features like colour mapping or a touch screen. But what the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt does do, it does really well. The menus and buttons are intuitive and easy to use. The mapping is incredibly simple to read and understand on the fly, and it pairs super easily with heart rate monitors and power meters.
